Can I tell you how hard it is to convince kids it's time for bed when it is still full-daylight at 8pm?

I'm glad their rooms came with darkening blinds, but there is still the fight to get them in the house!

The Bird Whisperer.

He put out a hummingbird feeder on 4/1 and yesterday we had a hummingbird.
Yesterday he put out a special finch/thistle feeder, and today we had a SWARM of Goldfinches. We've never even seen Goldfinches since living here.
Go figure!

I don't feel too bad.
I'm the only one to see the Eagles (2) 'frolicking' on Monday. :)

Lovely Spring is here and the lowlands have gotten snow. :)
It started snowing here last night around 5:30. We only got about 2.5 inches, but it was enough to delay school for 2 hours. So exciting! We don't usually have snow at this elevation.
Our neighborhood is lined with pink flowering trees. Above is a shot of some of the blooms. The lower shot is the front of the house, with our tulips covered in snow.

Our first "pass closure"

So, after a day trip into the mountains we were heading home on Rt. 2 over Steven's Pass.
This seemed like a good idea until we came upon a wall of stopped traffic.
And then sat for about an hour.
With about 10 feet of snow piled up on the right side of the truck (which was the 'downside' of the mountain)
And a mountain's worth of snow piled up on the left side of the truck.
Above is a photo taken about a mile before we reached the road block.   I think that was only about 8 feet of snow on the right.
Did I mention that my kids and my Mom were in the truck with us?
Trapped like cattle in a shoot for about an hour?
With a mountain full of snow still above us?

Interestingly, the weather/emergency info radio station called it a 'snow slide' not an 'avalanche'.

This did nothing to calm me. I did get a lot of knitting done in that hour.

I finally had my night out for SUSHI!!!!!

And I don't mean veggie rolls from the grocery either.

The Toro just melted in my mouth, I didn't even have to chew. OMG!!!

Let's hope it won't be another 7 months till our next 'date night'. :)

Being greeted by the best group of women that I could ever imagine! (even with the props)
Mindless shopping
Sinfully good greek food

Alcohol in amounts that did not make me ill, just pleasantly buzzed
Hanging with the girls
Bummed that 'sleeping-in' on the east coast was 'getting up early' for my west coast body
Sunshine and 80 degrees (still amazed!)
Spending a few hours on the beach, soaking up the sun :)
Tattoos
Hanging with the girls
Experiencing Quaker, Steak and Lube - fried pickles, not so bad
Buying a new tote bag because I couldn't fit all my new shit into my luggage.
Sunday brunch that was out of this world!
Spending time with my very dear and lovely Fleurs.
Having cheffbunny take care of me and getting me ready for my flight.
Just about no crying, only tearing up. :)
2 bumpy flights to get from Tampa to Seattle. (with gin & tonics and famous people impersonators no less)
